I agree with Deirdre's students, the forensics of this case is lacking and some evidence weren't thoroughly investigated because they were deemed "irrevalant." If evidence isn't even analyzed, it can't be ruled irrevalant because you don't know what you could find. Personally, I think that other possible motives should have been presented. It's the only motive argued and it's sort of weak. The State argues that Adnan was upset after their break up and that was their motive to kill Hae. The fact of who committed the murder is important, yes, but the motive of the actual murder is equally important. That venting could've brought in some more concrete motive, something that also doesn't seem to be explored. Maybe she vented to him about her troubles, if someone or something was bothering her. Don could've had some exclusive information about Hae's life. Although he had an alibi for the murder (he was working all day), he was still the victim's boyfriend. Like her, I was wondering why Don, Hae's boyfriend at the time of her murder, was not brought up as much as he should have been.

Lynnise Brown: In this episode, Deirdre is practically the voice of reason.Overall, Jay’s shifting statements make suspicions rise for the case, leading me to believe that Jay is guilty for the murder. Also, Hae was tested using the PERK Kit, but the test was never sent in for DNA testing. Neither was the rope, which could’ve been one of the two fibers found on her body (which were also not tested). The beer cans, for example, were not collected for testing. In addition, there are relatively no forensic results from the collected evidence, and a large amount of plausible evidence was never even collected from the crime scene. Even Deerdra’s law students claim that they believe that Adnan is innocent. Also mentioned in this episode is the possibility that someone or a group of people set up a deal in order to have Adnan blamed for this act of violence. Like Deerdra and her students mentioned in the episode, there really is no evidence placing Adnan at the murder scene. I believe that the jury and the people of the court were biased in believing that Adnan is guilty. In order to successfully complete her job, Deerdra gives Adnan innocence so that she can prove that his innocence or his guilt. Chris Kane: By listening to Episode 7, I have widened my belief that Adnan is not responsible, in any way, for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Hae.
